CNN News Associate – Temporary Rotational Program


Works with Bureau management to support bureau coverage and show production. Print scripts for anchors, operate the Teleprompter and greet guests. Work with live producers, show staffs and reporters on live shots and coverage of live events. Monitor a variety of sources, including social media, wires and local news to assist in newsgathering efforts. Conduct research at the direction of producers and desk management, which may include identifying video or digital stories Pitch stories for various CNN networks and platforms.

The Essentials
• At least one internship in a news environment and previous newsroom experience.
• Strong general news judgment and editorial skills.
• Should have the ability to multi-task and make fast decisions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Candidate should be computer literate and have a working knowledge of social media.
• The Washington, DC Bureau assignment desk is staffed 24 hours a day.
• Candidates should be prepared to work various shifts including overnights and weekends.
• BA/BS.

Director, Media Relations at HBO

The Director, Media Relations, West Coast will be responsible for overseeing the creation and execution of publicity campaigns to maximize media, industry and consumer awareness for HBO original programming.

The Daily

  • Create and execute strategic, effective publicity campaigns for HBO original programming. Manage project team.

  • Track and manage trade press inquiries and awards press opportunities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across HBO departments to maximize cross-functional strategy and awareness. 

  • Develop strong working relationships with creative talent, producers, and representatives. Collaborate with production partners where appropriate. 

  • Identify opportunities, secure talent participation, and attend events as needed, including premieres, award shows, junkets, press conferences, conventions, film & television festivals and other media events. Must be able to work weekends, nights and travel as required.

  • Create press releases and other written materials, including talking points. Oversee selection and distribution of media assets.

  • Manage project budgets.

The Essentials

  • 8+ years of experience working in entertainment publicity, with a deep understanding of the entertainment landscape and media trends.

  • 3+ years of experience in leading project campaigns independently. 

  • Strong contacts with press and within the media/entertainment industry.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Good judgement and ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

  • Must be committed to the success of the team. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
